While I sit here with my daughter braiding my hair so I will have a curly style, I am reminded of how I was suppose to teach myself the Silhouette Cameo during the holiday break.
That didn't go as planned. This season was quite busy, plus my work schedule didn't allow for free creative opportunities.
So today is the day, I stare at the computer screen and take notes. Yup stare at the screen and hope I actually learn something today.
I have been holding onto this $25 gift card for JoAnn Fabrics from a coworker. Not really sure how I want to use it. Any ideas??
Wish me luck everyone and happy crafting today!
Note: Below you will see the family pic from Christmas and the other pic is a bag I decorated for a coworker the tag was purchased from Chandi Walsh another crafter, I finally parted with the tags she made..lol. She really loved it. Now to work on masculine gift bags, didn't realize it would be difficult. I guess I should ask a man how he would see his gift bag.
Yup it's me and let me tell you, I have been working real hard strategize a way to build my brand. What brand you ask? (Well, hopefully you did ask that question-lol)
There is no "I" in team, but this team typing this blog is I, Vanessa. Now I may have been crafting for over 5 years, but I have been supporting others alike in their journey. So now I wonder how I can draw those same folk into my dream to succeed. Is it possible that my dream is so far away from their plateau that they are too busy to say, "Hey check this out, I have an idea and it worked for me." or is it that I have not established myself with the "right folk" to warrant their support.
Either way I love the people that view my passion for this as a gift and not a job to show and prove my ability. I appreciate the journey to show my grandmother above that this is for all she did for me.
As a side note, I have noticed how people request others to buy from them and show support by subscribing to their channel. That may be a bit difficult for me as I cannot see asking someone to sub me. If they hadn't subbed me by now, then that means they really are not interested. I get it- really I do. That's human nature. However, since I have begun to upload videos I find myself requesting folk to LIKE or SUBSRCIBE....I thank my Lord that I am not of self and I show love to all as much as I can; be it purchases or subbing or even liking a project on FB or YouTube.
So I believe today will be my last request to request subscribers, until I attend one of those many conferences on blogging and social media traffic to obtain customers.
SIKE!!! How can I share my passion if I
don't invite people into my creative world. Silly thought...lol
Alright Ladies and Gents, I got that off my mind. Now to move on to being me and creating.
In case you would like to see what I have been working on, please feel free to check it out.

GRAPHIC 45 CARD SWAP-FEATURING OUR PET KITTEN KODAK(KODY)
I must share my wonderful weekend I had with my family and one of my sons best friends, Lucas.
We went to this years Comic Con here in Michigan, and it was so much fun. I had no idea how excited I would have been. Now I have been to the Yamcon passing through during my lunch period, and I behaved like a kid at Cedar Point(similar to Six Flags).
Young and old comic enthusiast were trailing the aisle ways. Dressed in their favorite character. It was so amazing. Even parent and child were dressed in character.
I've had a rough few weeks and this was a nice break in my regular routine.
I even met illustrators there that were so inspiring. Let me say that again...INSPIRING!!!!
Picked up an autograph while there from a local Comic Book artist, author, illustrator. I don't even know what you call them... Lol.
How can anyone not be inspired by the many artistic culture under one roof?
The colors
The people
The artwork
The costumes
Hey I almost forgot someone came as Tony Stark, and his wife let him know that he was recognized. He was worried tgat no one would know. But of course, I asked him... Lol
So the photo you see is of a Teddy Bear Themed card swap, this was sort of different for me. I say that to say I have never knew what I could do with the photo frame due cuts and lettering.
Welp, I figured it out and I believe it turned out precious.
I had an awesome evening with the ladies last Friday of SOC Michigan. Met quite a few ladies I had not met before. The dinner was superb as always at Steve and Rockys located in Novi, MI.
As a "Hello" token, I made these tags that turned out pretty cool if I don't say so myself(pat on my back).
Hope you like the tags. By the way I made over 25,forgot I had some at the house.
I have jumped not only into Latch Hook but now Copic. How can anyone pass up this Art. I have been a trailer load of studying on the Copic beginnings and learned so much that there is a high level of respect to the creators.
Many artist ink artist use this marker for drawings such as Manga. My son is into Anime and I recently purchased a booklet for him to practice. So now we both will have an additional hobby.
Below you will see my first collection other than the one Copic marker I bought at Michaels. The rest were purchased at a great bargain.
Well, I am getting closer to the mindset of going on a true cruise. Not the day cruises I have gone on before while living in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Just viewed a few videos of folks enjoying themselves and showing highlights of their vacation. While doing this I have been convincing my 9yr old son that it will be okay on this cruise, but I must talk him into the flight getting there. Wish me me luck on this one.
So now to look for the email from AAA and any travel agents that are willing to go that extra mile to find the best offer and times to go where the sun does shine...lol
Until then enjoy this beautiful weather in the snow. And if you are reading this while in a warm state. send some happy mail filled with sunrays our way.
Well today is getting better and better. I heard some news that has been looming in the air since I was a teen. Unfortunately, that is all I can mention...whew. I feel better just to day this tidbit without spilling beans.
Then to add to this, I maybe getting a much needed upgrade to bringing more attention to my desire for creating beautiful paper crafts and altered projects from scratch. The question is where do I see myself? Even more where do I go from here and how to make it pop? I would love to have my own branding with a logo. Only if I can create my own and create stamps, scrapbook paper. I have a load of ideas for cardstock designs.
Below are a few card projects I worked on last evening.
The first one was for a coworkers friends who is dealing with health issues and they are preparing themselves for the inevitable. Just hope all goes well to allow more time for the families to handle situation. Even though it is not in their hands. But don't we all wish we could help make it go away?
The second set of cards are would you believe 3x3 cards for a card swap group I am a part of this month for a Summer theme: How ya like?

MY DREAM VEHICLE INTRODUCING THE INFAMOUS
VOLVO XC90 ALL WHITE WITH TAN INTERIOR
Yup, that's me sitting on a Harley. Minutes before this photo, I was actually on a Harley revvin' it up. it was totally awesome and intimidating at the same time. After the third gear shift I had to let up. I am so used to my Susuki Katana that I was a bit scurred of this machine. Clearly Harley is another mountain for me to climb. There are plenty of Harleys out there that are affordable used, and I know the right mechanics to keep it up to par. But on the road...smh. I am truly a crotch rocket girl. So when I do grow up this will be my motorcycle choice.
Stamped and approved. A moment I wish my daughter was there to enjoy. Life of a college student. Naturally she is having her fun without us...sigh
Congrats /promotion card for a coworker. She really loved it.
Sympathy Card swap
Makings of a tag for a swap I participated in 2014. The following three are the result.
This is what I did at work before I changed positions...lol

Easter Easel card I made for swap with Jane P from

Tri color card made for Marilyn Honicke as a friendly swap. We decided on a color to roll with and have fun. She sent a similar one as well. She sent the measurements and I ran with it. Mind you I am not good at measuring, so I have always even in typing class back, back, waaaay back in high school and college just measured by sight.
Just noticed the date of the video upload from 2014. This was one year on the day after my grandmother passed away. Wow! As you look back on life and how far we have come, it still amazes me that my passion for creativity is still in me. I may have my weak days and blah days. But let me tell ya, I still got it!!!
I definitely sounded nervous here. Let's see if I can step it up this year. Still trying to decide if I should change cameras or just get a Tripod or connect with Armand who sells the camera/flip holder.
